Post Frocktober Syndrome...

Well, I've finally finished doing the last load of washing of frocks from Frocktober. I intentionally didn't do any frock washing during October so I couldn't wear the same dress twice. Last weekend I did three loads of washing - all dresses and I couldn't resist taking a photo of my full clothesline.

I wanted to thank everyone for sponsoring Libby and myself throughout Frocktober. Between both of us we've raised closed to $2000 for this great cause. I did enjoy blogging on a daily basis. So, please stay tuned, every now and then I'm sure Libby and I will give you a dress, shoe or hat update from our lives.

Love,

Alison

Fashions on the field

Frocktober is finally over and what should come round the corner but Melbourne Cup. Obviously we couldn't let that event go by without dressing up. There were some fantastic hats, including an amazing handcrafted one made from tyvek scraps and cardboard offcuts, shaped into a beautiful pony.

I wore Alison's old 20s style cloche hat (if you check out the very first photo of us on this blog you'll see Alison in it) with Mum's raccoon stole. And Adria (who made that gorgeous green and purple necklace she's wearing) wore the boater I picked up at the clothes swap on Sunday. We were instructed by our photographer to look 'vampish' but as you'll see from the photos, we struggled to achieve anything other than 'ridiculous'.

Still, red lipstick, a fur stole and a little sepia tone (and heavy handed cropping to remove the toaster in the corner) work wonders to create some glamour out of even the least glamorous model. Till next time xx

We'll meet again

Don't worry kids - Frocktober may be over but Alison and I still love you. To prove it we'll keep posting now and then, when we have something exciting to show you. Today's excitement - International Pants Day!!! So I've got my so-comfy-they're-almost-pyjamas high waisted pants on. And if pants aren't exciting enough for you it's also the first day of Movember. The fun never stops.

As we took this photo (inside the compactus at work) Claire and I were discussing what you can do in pants that you can't do in a skirt. Provided you're wearing a full skirt I couldn't think of anything. Any suggestions? So far in frocktober I've already climbed ladders, ridden bicycles, walked up mountains (well, hills I suppose), evacuated buildings, baked bread, mopped floors, practiced pilates and danced all night in frocks. Who needs pants anyway? Except for that they don't blow up past your waist while you're walking through town, a la Marilyn Monroe. That is a plus.
